Homeopathy is an
holistic art and science of healing that respects the wisdom of the
body. Homeopathy was discovered by Samuel Christian Hahnemann, a
German physician in the late 1700s. Its conceptual roots, however,
can be traced to Ayurveda and
traditional
Chinese medicine. Homeopathic medicine today is a natural
pharmaceutical science. Ultra-small doses of potentized substances
are used to stimulate the body's defenses and initiate healing.
A holistic healing system, Homeopathy individualizes the choice of
medicines to a particular remedy, according to the patient's
physical, emotional, and mental symptoms. Moreover, it is recognized
as a healing science that has no side-effects. In the late 1700s,
Samuel Hahnemann chanced upon a natural law of healing: 'Like cures
Like'. His findings marked the genesis of Classical Homeopathy. To a
growing band of practitioners and beneficiaries, the art and science
of homeopathy represents the pinnacle of 21st century medicine.
